Android和Android Market并没有Google宣传的那么开放。 提供WiFi共享服务的应用程序“WiFi Tether for Root Users”被Google实行Android市场禁入，这是一款把G1模拟成无线AP，使多台PC可以共享G1的2G/3G Internet连接的软件，在没有WIFI热点的区域可允许用户通过2G/3G上网。同类软件还有aNetShare，目前也已经无法在Android Market中找到了。WiFi Tether的开发者在博客上称，Google引用开发者协议条款表示，用户与T-Mobile所签的数据服务协议仅供G1这唯一的设备使用，而不能与该用户所拥有的其他设备如个人台式机和笔记本共享该数据连接服务。
