Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring (2009.1) 发布，新版本包括了kernel 2.6.29、KDE 4.2.2、GNOME 2.6、Xfce 4.6 、X.org 7.4、OpenOffice.org 3.0.1（基于 Go-OO ）、Qt 4.5 等等。同时加了新功能speedboot加快系统启动速度，即先启动图形界面，押后启动后台服务进程。此版本支持ext4。 Mandriva linux 的特点是安装后做少量设置即可使用， 其强大的 Mandriva linux Control Center (MCC, 控制中心)和windows 的控制面板一样，能完成绝大部分的系统设置，几乎不需使用命令行和修改配置文件。此外，其强大的urpmi命令堪与apt-get媲美。
