Androidfanatic.com的管理员Ghostwalker先推出了一个Debian For Android的安装程序和导入程序，可以让Debian系统运行在Android设备上，也就是G1手机，整个安装过程大约要花费10分钟时间，之后就 能在G1上安装庞大的Debian软件仓库的软件。而且手机原有的Android功能并不会消失。因为Debian已经提供了对Android底层架构的 支持，所以这不能算是移植。 此后，Ghostwalker又贴出一个简明的指南讲解如何让Gnome 、KDE 、LXDE和IceWM桌面运行在Android手机上。
