EA Maxis负责人Rod Humble今日在《模拟人生3》（The Sims 3） 官网透露 ，本作将放放弃DRM保护， 他说到：“也许很多玩家已经讨厌这个东西，干脆我们的《模拟人生3》也放弃使用这种技术，这款游戏唯一就是有一个序列号，就像《模拟人生2》（The Sims 2）一样，不会有任何网上验证需求”。
